How to prepare employees for the change that's coming?
October 5, 2024We are back after the relaxing summer holidays and we are called to get active to respond to everyday life. Returning to work after the holidays can be a challenge. Sometimes we manage to respond effectively and sometimes we don't!
I'm sharing with you some ideas to help us find our rhythm again and ease into this transition.
Preparation Before Return to Work
Physical and mental preparation: We follow a healthy diet and include exercise in our program to increase our energy levels.
Sleep adjustment: We gradually adjust our sleep to prepare our body for the daily schedule.
Organizing mail: We take some time to sort our emails and respond to the most urgent ones.
During the Return to Work
Goals: We set specific and achievable goals for the first period of time.
Communication: We inform our colleagues, partners or customers about our return. We suggest ideas or ask for help where needed.
Planning: We set priorities starting with Important and Urgent issues. We make an action plan for the remaining issues.
Break: We adopt short breaks during the day for rest and concentration.
Balance: We avoid demanding that we do everything right away. We utilize techniques to increase productivity and allow time for adaptation.
Flexible and helpful thinking: We choose thoughts that make us feel healthy emotions and make it easier for us to take action.
Additional support After the Work
Communication with our people: If we feel anxious or have difficulty adapting, we can talk to a friend, relative or colleague.
After-work activities: We incorporate activities into our routine that we enjoy and maintain a balance.
Continuous self-improvement: We continue to develop our knowledge and skills.
Discussion with experts: Where necessary, we do not hesitate to contact a psychologist or career coach or productivity specialist.
